How we build with restaurant teams, not around them
Servd Team · 4 July 2026 · 5 min read

A restaurant feature can look perfect in a meeting and fail on a wet touchscreen at 9 PM. We begin by watching the existing job: who owns it, what interrupts it, and what happens when it goes wrong.
Prototype at operational speed
We test with realistic menus, permissions, noise, gloves, printers, weak networks, and peak queues. Feedback becomes a concrete observation rather than a vote on preferences. Small pilots expose failure modes before a broad rollout.
After release, support signals and product metrics return to the same loop. Shipping is the start of learning, not the end of the project.
